VET WEEK 2020 – PARTICIPATION OF SE BGVTC

Prizes for the participants in the competition:

Category 1: Writing an essay on „How vocational training helped me find my vocation“

Category 2: „Working-out of an original product, demonstrating the professional skills acquired during the training“

in the framework of the European Vocational Skills Week 2020

On 13.11.2020 in the State Enterprise „Bulgarian-German Vocational Training Center“, branch Pleven, in a limited circle of people due to the epidemic measures, took place the official presentation of the awards to the winners of the announced by SE BGVTC, branch Pleven and Association of Institutions for Vocational Training in Bulgaria (SIPOB) competition for essay writing and production of an original product, demonstrating the professional skills acquired during the training.

The competition is registered as an event within the European Vocational Skills Week (09.11.2020-13.11.2020) and is part of the activities of the Erasmus + Program project, KA3 Project „VET UP For excellence in vocational education in Europe“, № 609082 -EPP-1-2019-1-ES-EPPKA3-VET-NETPAR.

34 participants responded to the challenge – current and former students of SE BGVTC, branch Pleven, in trainings in the following specialties: „Computer Networks“, „Graphic Design“, „Adult Support“, „Manicure, Pedicure and Nail Art“, „Welding“, „Assistant educator“, „Word processing applications“, „Software“, „Administrative services“, „Worker in the production of culinary products in restaurants and entertainment establishments“ and „Production of culinary products and drinks“.

In the category writing an essay on „How vocational training helped me find my vocation“:

  • first prize went to Gergana Uzunova’s essay from the “Adult Support” course, which describes in a touching way the role of a social assistant as a ‘working bee’,
  • second place was awarded to the essay „The Audacity of Age“ by Silvia Todorova from the course „Computer Networks“,
  • Third prize went to Daniela Dakova, course „Manicure, Pedicure and Nail Art“ with an essay „Nest of dreams come true.“

In the other category – „Working-out of an original product, revealing the professional skills acquired during the training“, won with the unanimous support of the commission for evaluation of results and of the independent audience – „Robot from waste materials“ by Tsvetomir Petrov from a welding course.

  • Second place went to the precisely made „3D bee“, waving a flag of SE BGVTC – branch Pleven, of Velislava Shumova from the course „Adult Support“.
  • Third place is given to the original „Car-corn“ made of natural materials by Gabriela Panovska from the course „Assistant Educator“, which is assigned to the most useful for the development of children’s imagination handmade toys.

In evaluating of the results, the Evaluation Committee, which includes teachers from different professional fields, is guided by criteria such as originality, quality of execution, complexity and applicability.

The winners in both categories received prizes, related to the profession in which they are currently trained and which they will practice in the future after the successful completion of their training.

Special diplomas received:

Isabela Hristova for „Young Talent“ for the manicure she made with the logo of the SE BGVTC, branch Pleven;

Violeta Krasteva, Veselinka Kaneva, Tsvetelina Ilieva, Kostadin Georgiev, Ekaterina Ivanova and Ralitsa Tonkova for the development of graphic design for advertising purposes;

Desislava Panyovska from the pilot training „Worker in the production of culinary products in restaurants and entertainment establishments“ for culinary talent, manifested through a cake prepared and decorated by her.

Diplomas for outstanding contribution to the development of a demonstration model for educational purposes were awarded to a working team from the course „Computer Networks“, consisting of: Mesut Seferov, Silvia Todorova, Julia Nikolova, Vihren Kopchev, Ivaylo Ivanov and Krassimir Vatev.

All other participants received diplomas of participation and good performance.

Due to the great success of the initiative, SE BGVTC, branch Pleven will make a series of publications „Under the sign of the challenge“ on its website in order to promote the results of the competition to a wider range of readers.
